Beyazıt State Library

Beyazıt State Library has the distinction of being the first library established by the state in Turkey. Its first foundations were laid in 1884 as two historical buildings overlooking the Beyazıt area, opposite Beyazıt and Sahaflar Streets. As much as it is historically rooted, it is also very deep-rooted with its works. It contains nearly a million documents, half of which are books. At the same time, it promises a quiet, peaceful working environment with its spacious and large study rooms. Due to its location, you can find mostly university students studying in the library, which is close to Istanbul University Beyazıt Campus.
