Countdown at Istanbul Airport

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that they will start the simultaneous landing and takeoff application on three runways at Istanbul Airport on April 17, 2025.

Uraloğlu made a written statement regarding the "simultaneous independent triple runway operation" to be implemented at Istanbul Airport.

Stating that Istanbul Airport is a turning point in aviation and that it hosts many new technological systems, Uraloğlu said, "We continue our work towards increasing passenger capacity. We will start the simultaneous landing and takeoff application on three runways of Istanbul Airport on April 17, 2025. This system that we will implement in our country will be a first in Europe."

Uraloğlu announced that the work on the runway is being carried out within the State Airports Authority.
