The Spice Bazaar (Egyptian Bazaar) is located behind the New Mosque and next to the Flower Market in Eminönü. Spice Bazaar, one of the oldest covered bazaars in Istanbul, was actually built during the construction of the New Mosque to bring income to this mosque. Sultan III. The construction, which was started on 10 Muharrem 1006 (1597) by Safiye Sultan, Murat's mother, was completed by Sultan IV after a long pause. It was completed by Mehmet's mother, Hatice Turhan Sultan. Its architects are Davut Ağa and Mustafa Ağa. The bazaar last underwent a comprehensive renovation by the General Directorate of Foundations between 2013 and 2018.
