Gulhane Park

Gülhane Park is among the places to visit as a family in Istanbul. Gülhane Park, which was used as the garden of Topkapı Palace during the Ottoman period, was restored by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in 2003 and reached its current beauty.

Gülhane Park is also a very important place from a historical perspective. The Tanzimat Edict, the first concrete step of democratization, was read in Gülhane Park on November 3, 1839. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk showed the Latin letters to the public for the first time in this park on September 1, 1928.

In addition to the natural beauties of the park, the Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar Library and the Istanbul Museum of Islam, Science and Technology may also interest you.

You can visit the Gulhane Park on our Guided Istanbul tours.
