Istanbul New Airport (IST)

Istanbul Airport, the new airport of the city, is seen as a great success of the Turkish State. This new aviation center, which is the third airport after Istanbul's two existing airports (Atatürk Airport and Sabiha Gökçen Airport), has undertaken all passenger flights of Atatürk Airport as of 29/10/18 and is expected to host more than 200 million passengers in 2025.

Located on the European side of the city, in the Çatalca-Göktürk-Arnavutköy area, Istanbul Airport is 40km from Taksim and 52km from Kadıköy. Located in the middle of Tayakadin and Akpınar villages, the airport serves more than 350 domestic and international routes in 110 countries and has one of the largest duty-free areas in the world. Currently only one terminal is open, the airport has four runways (the total number of runways will be 6 when the project is completed) and its five concourses host many airlines whose planes land at or take off from the airport. Finally, the services offered at the airport and the facilities available here are unique and, of course, the latest technologies have been implemented throughout the environmentally friendly airport.

As a result, Istanbul Airport, which was put into service on 06/04/19, although its construction is not fully completed, has become an important transportation center connecting the European, Asian and African continents and will turn into an even more meaningful aviation center as time goes by.
