Yedikule Fortress

Yedikule Fortress, the intersection point of Ottoman and Byzantine history, is located right in the middle of the land walls of Istanbul, as one of the most valuable legacies of Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror. Yedikule Hisar, which gave its name to the district, has been an important center of Suriçi city life since the day it was founded. It looks like an inner castle with its elegant towers built over time, the Fatih Mosque built right after the conquest, and the neighborhood that was once developed in its garden. Even though we lost the Fatih Mosque, which formed the neighborhood and the tiny square over time, Yedikule Fortress is still one of the star places of Istanbul due to the eye-catching view of the towers and the legends of the Hisar, whose fame goes beyond borders.
